The swim is in Málaga port, a sheltered harbour, not on an open beach. A single large transition sits on the Paseo de los Curas in the city centre. The bike is one 90 km loop along the coast on roads fully closed to traffic, with 250 m of climbing according to the organiser. The run makes two flat laps of the Malagueta promenade before the finish in the centre.
