How the day is laid out

The swim is held in a lake. The wetsuit call is made on race morning, against the temperature measured then.

The organiser publishes 1.9 km of swimming, 90 km on the bike and 21.1 km of running.

The swim uses a rolling start: athletes enter the water a few at a time.

The overall cut-off is 8 hours.

Three cut-offs, and a climbing figure still unsettled

The organiser sets three time limits after the 7:20 age-group start: swim finished by 8:40 (1 h 20 min of racing), bike by 12:35 (5 h 15 min) and run by 15:20 (8 h). The bike covers four 22.5 km loops with the steep Cologny ramp in the first kilometres; the run is four 5.25 km laps of the lake quays. Every swim start is rolling.
