T100 triathlon: which weekend to race as an amateur
8 T100 weekends in the catalogue open a 100 km race to age-group athletes. The date, the water and the heat decide between them.
Where the figures come from
The T100 is the professional tour run by the Professional Triathletes Organisation (PTO) with World Triathlon. Each stop is also a race weekend open to amateurs. The race lists, distances and qualification rules below come from the official Participate page of each stop on t100triathlon.com, read on 15 October 2026.
Water and air temperatures, course profiles and climbing come from the race pages of the catalogue; temperatures are averages for the race date and place. The catalogue records the 100 km race of each weekend. Not every stop publishes everything: 1 of the 8 give a bike elevation gain. Dates and entry status change, so check the official page before booking travel. Entries are made with the organiser.
The calendar on t100triathlon.com, read on 20 October 2026, lists around twenty race weekends from November 2026 to December 2027, among them Abu Dhabi, Samarkand, Yokohama, Rome, Los Angeles, Hamburg, Weihai and Tauranga. Most of these only take priority-access requests for now. This guide compares the weekends recorded in the catalogue, not the whole tour.

Choosing by season
The weekends in the catalogue fall in three blocks. 3 are in November and December, all in the Gulf: Dubai T100, Saudi Arabia T100, Qatar T100 Final. Gold Coast and Singapore follow in March and April. London, Vancouver and Marbella come in August and September.
A Gulf race in November comes after a northern summer of training. A March race in Australia asks a European athlete to build fitness through the winter, often indoors. The calendar guide applies the same reasoning to IRONMAN races.

Water and heat
Average water temperatures on race day run from °C to °C. At 26 °C or more: . At 21 °C or less: . The London page describes a freshwater swim and marks it as a wetsuit swim.
The air is the second filter. The hottest average afternoon is at Singapore T100, with 34 °C. For an athlete training through a northern autumn or winter, heat is the condition to prepare for in the Gulf and in Singapore.
Bike course and distance
Most bike courses are described as flat or rolling. Marbella T100 is the exception: the organiser describes a hilly 80 km into the mountains behind the coast, then a lightly undulating run. Where a bike gain is published, it ranges from 802 m at Vancouver T100 to 802 m at Vancouver T100, where the organiser lists the run on packed trail.
The 100 km format is 2 km of swimming, 80 km on the bike and 18 km of running. Against a 70.3, that is 100 m more swimming, 10 km less cycling and 3.1 km less running. The distances guide puts every format side by side.
Qualifying for the age-group final in Qatar
The Qatar T100 weekend hosts the T100 Age-Group World Championship over 100 km, organised with World Triathlon. Entry is by qualification only. The organiser states that each T100 event offers 10 qualification slots per age group; the Marbella page specifies that the top 10 of each age group qualify for the 2027 final.

San Francisco, the exception
The tour also stops in San Francisco in June. There, the amateur race is Escape From Alcatraz, over its own distances: 2.4 km of swimming, 29 km on the bike and 12.9 km of running.
The water averages 13 °C, the coldest of any race on the tour. It is not a 100 km race and does not lead to the Qatar final in the same way as the 8 weekends above.
